Our Djs

The Sound of the Festival

Music and the atmosphere are very important things to our marathon.
We want our DJs to prioritize what is happening on the dance floor and to be careful observers to be able to create an extraordinary milonga with you.

Richard Cepeda,
Los-Angeles, CA

For over nearly 20 years, Richard Cepeda has traveled the world studying tango and the music that drives it. As a dancer-turned-DJ, he brings a deep understanding of what drives dancers to every set.

A traditionalist with modern sensibilities, Richard believes a great night of dancing requires more than just good music—it needs a journey. His sets blend dynamics, textures, and emotions to create an immersive, soulful experience on the dance floor.

Whether at milongas, festivals, or intimate events, Richard’s goal is simple: to move people—physically, emotionally, and collectively.

Guillermo Blando_edited_edited.jpg

Guillermo Blando,
Los-Angeles, CA

‘Guille’ for his friends and family, ‘Guillermo Blando’ for all formalities in life, he has been a passionate dancer and esteemed member of the tango family in Southern California for more than a decade.
He left his beloved Argentina many years ago, arriving in the US with a young family and a few pieces of luggage in pursuit of his dreams.
Guille grew up in Argentina at a time when tango was almost forgotten, outside of the big capital city where the last tango legends were struggling to keep it alive. While everybody else was listening to disco music, Guille fell in love with the songs of Carlos Gardel and Julio Sosa, and a few guitar lessons made him discover the beautiful spirit of Argentinean folklore.
Fast forward many years, and tango has now become his dominant passion in life. Besides his love for social dancing and DJing, together with his lovely dance and life partner Lynn, they have performed at many venues in SoCal and have started teaching classes to beginner dancers.

Guille is many things outside of his tango persona: father of two amazing daughters, engineer, space enthusiast, soccer fanatic at times. But when the speakers blast the captivating chords of a tango song, his heart is just one with the music.
DJ Guille has been making people dance in countless milongas all over the West Coast for more than six years. His style focuses on keeping the crowd energy engaged up to the very last song, by creating a musical cadence that transports the dancers through a journey of different moods during the night: fun, romantic, playful, nostalgic, soothing, dramatic, deep. Just like tango itself.

DJ Perez – Tango DJ & Artist, Los-Angeles, CA

Jerry Matias Perez’s love affair with tango began in childhood, when a family member gifted him a box of tango cassettes. Already an eager young musician at just eight years old, Jerry was playing the organ—and it didn’t take long before he learned to play a few tangos. His fascination soon extended to the dance itself, though finding a partner his age who shared the same passion proved a challenge.
Now based in Los Angeles, Jerry is a professional tango dancer, teacher, and event organizer, best known for the beloved local gatherings Practica La Guapa and Milonga Bombon, which he runs with his wife and dance partner, Christine. The duo first launched their tango careers in Miami, Florida over 20 years ago where Jerry’s natural showmanship led him to start DJing their post-class practicas. His sets quickly became known for their seamless blend of tradition and innovation—mixing soulful classics with bursts of playful, unexpected flair.
Over the years, Jerry has become one of L.A.’s most sought-after tango DJs and hosts, headlining major events including the Gavito Tango Festival 2025. Yet he never forgets his roots, often returning to Miami as a guest DJ and occasionally spinning in Europe. Combining his deep musicality with the artistry of a seasoned dancer, Jerry brings an energy to the dance floor that feels less like a DJ set—and more like a live concert of rhythm, passion, and pure joy.

DJ Sabah,
San-Diego, CA

Sabah got addicted to Tango in the late nineties. It started with dancing and now it includes being a DJ. “…Tango music occupies my thoughts and energizes my spirit and I am in constant search of good music. Although I try to vary the music I play, please feel free to consider me old fashioned as I love Golden age music. The emotional impact of the music is what I look for in addition to the musicality.”

Michelle DJs regularly in her hometown of Albuquerque and in Santa Fe. She has been a beloved DJ at festivals, marathons, encuentros, and various milongas across New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Texas, California, Idaho, Washington, North Carolina, South Carolina, and England.

Aaron Quetzal Diaz,
San-Diego, CA

Aaron began his Tango journey in Tijuana, a restless city in the northernmost corner of Latin America, where hopes, dreams, and sorrows dance in mesmerizing splendor. This vibrant, decadent city exists in surreal duality, dressed in contrast, with music and food in every corner. In this atmosphere of surreal contrast, Aaron began to explore the beauty of the infinite shades and colors of reality. Now he finds himself away from his hometown, but bringing a piece of it everywhere he goes. Building perfectly crafted tandas, supported by beautiful cortinas to steer the mood, he is here to entertain.

DJ Varo,
Los-Angeles, CA

As an avid dancer himself, Varo has a deep appreciation for tango music as a crucial part of the overall milonga experience for each dancer.

As a DJ, Varo strives to create a musical atmosphere that inspires dancers and connects with them on the emotional level.

While DJ-ing, Varo is always connected to the dancers-either by observing the energy and the interactions of the dancefloor, or dancing in the middle of it.

In addition to selecting good tango songs, Varo pays detailed attention to the structure of the playlist.

Varo comprises the tandas and the relationship of tandas to each other in a way to establish a harmonious flow of the energy, and to develop emotional-energetic contrasts with a tasteful climax and rise that resonate within each dancer.

Varo regularly DJ’s at milongas in Los Angeles and Southern Calfornia. He has DJ’d along with Otros Aires and Narcotango.

Varo is invited to DJ tango at festivals and marathons all over the US and Canada since 2008.
